Shoot in diagonal

Sometimes you see the enemy, being forward from you and say 2squares forward, one left, but you can't shoot them with an arrow or magic?
Why? Will this be addressed in The Quest 2?

This actually sounds like a pretty good idea; it would make bows and magic more advantageous.

magic is already at advantage. being versatile is good too. but I agree bow and arrow is hard but shooting diagonally doesn't make sense because if you can shoot diagonally that makes the enemy can too. that will be a pain for melee fighters
