Frustraded / Tainted blood

Why can't I kill some of the creatchers in tainted blood like the black fly or the ghost of roses

You have to attack Black Flies with your "Fly Swatter" sword. If you don't have it, pick it up in the Cave of The Ascetics beside the entrance from St. Kilda's island.
