If you stay in jail, and when you leave and lose skills/attributes, can you get those back, or are they permentky lost?

They are permanently lost.

Of course you can improve those skills/attributes the next time you level up. So in a sense you can "recover" them.

Ok, so since they are permanently lost, even though I can level up those skills that were lost when I level, my character will always be weaker than he once was. Because I could of leveled him up if I didn't goto jail anyways. So, if I was at 20 points in a skill, and lost a point from going to prison which puts me at 19 points, I'll always be one point down from where I could of been, cause I'd have to spend an extra point to catch him back up, where I could of used that point for anything else. Or, I could of gone from 20-25 if I have 5 free points, but, instead I have to go from 19-24? In other words he'll never be the man he once was!

Yes, that's the price of prison.

Actually, if your character is a smart criminal, they can avoid that price in more than one way. ;)

Haha, I tried escaping when I was inprisoned at vastares. I had a lock pick and built up my lock picking skills. But, it said my chances were none. I'll figure it out one of these days!
