Stuck on water caverns

Im currently stuck on the water caverns beneath Lake Brendan. How do I get out? I searched the wiki but theres only a map marking a secret door and switches. Cant seem to figure it out. Only thing I see is a switch over water that I cant walk on. What Im I missing? Thanks

Get a bow and arrows or a throwing knives and use them to hit the switch.
You have 20 save slots use them all. Save after every quest, save before going into a dungeon, save, save save!!
