Matras cemetery, what's wrong?

I've beaten this level before so I'm not sure what's up.. I've tried smashing the tunnel with my weapon, and firing every curse I know, and I can't get the tunnel to collapse in on the bubbles. Do I have to have a certain strength? Or did I mess things up by firing road rage first?

Nothing special, just stand right before the bubbles (not onto them) and hit with your weapon. (At least that's what I can remember.)
