I'm new here. Suggestions...

Hi guys I just bought the core game alone and I am wondering what an ideal setup would be for a good battlemage. I see by default it suggests light weapons and armor. Could I go heavy without many downsides? Also what would a good race be for a battlemage? Just curious in general if magic and melee pair well together in this game or would it be better to just go one way or the other?

In my experience magic gets weaker the farther you get into the game. I would go heavy weapons and armour and then the do give yourself some strength points when you level up. Have fun!

if you need money, play cards at an inn, and buy burning hand spell book or something when you have enough gold, spells level off later, but are overpowered at the beginning. for newbie enemies, that spell is a one or two hit kill, but watch your magicka!
