Advice on Skill Enchanting Please

Postby Schicko » Sun Feb 17, 2013 2:59 pm

Ok, so I'm planning to enchant some of my gear on some skills. I will enchant them in HOLIII underdeck which provides 9000 enchant for 25,000 gold; money is not a problem, however, I need advice on what equipment I should enchant. I just want to ask how much I should skill these areas: Env. Magic, Persuade, Stealth and Repair.

Basically, I want it so that I can unlock/disarm most things (using the unlock and disarm spells which need Env. Magic), persuade/pickpocket most people and possibly repair most items with one click (not needed much coz I could just pay one gold for repairs as I have an extremely high Merc. skill, but I might do repairs on the go). BTW, all these are including those in high level expansion packs: i.e, the traps, doors, NPCs, items.

As I mentioned before, I also need some tips on what gear I should enchant. I know I could only swap out weapons and shields in mid-battle, but it takes frikin time for a Winter Axe to spawn and I don't want to go to town to get MamaOwl Shields yet as I will have to skip a lot of levels if I kill a few snowmen (I am lvl 3 as I did a Mithria dash in less than a day).

I could be patient with save-spawning items (only weapon, not shield) or I could level up first whilst gushing then go back or I could go to other Exp. packs for weapons and/or shields, but I don't know which one I should go on. Of course I could do a mix of all, but I will still need some guidance.

I have already figured out that I need about 80 in alchemy to make most potions, specifically PG potions and that I need 120 in Mind Magic to cast a perfect Calm spell at 100% chance.

Help with dilema please lol?

Hopefully when all these are answered, they could help other people looking to get the perfect gear.

Enchant your weapons and armor with heavy/light weapon and heavy/light armor depending on make. Your rings, amulet and robes don't have a corresponding skill and make for excellent switchable gear. Enchant the latter with whatever you like ;)

Bellbane, thanks for the reply, however, I am not exactly satisfied with it. I think I am not recieving very many replies because of the sheer length of my original post. As such, I'll try to condense it.

In essence, I want to know how much I should increase my Environment Magic, Persuade, Stealth and Repair skills to the point (no more, no less) where I could cast perfect disarm and unlock spells on most traps and doors (this is regarding Env. Magic), persuade and pickpocket most NPCs in quests (this is regarding Persuade and Stealth, respectively) and repair my broken equipment to perfect condition with less than five clicks using a repair hammer.

To better understand this, I will give examples of what I mean. To make most potions with a pestle and mortar, you need a skill of 80 in alchemy. Another example would be the fact that you need a skill of 120 in Mind Magic to cast a Calm spell with 100% chance of effect.

I hope that this time, my post will garner more replies.
Thanks.

Schicko, I think you should get the game's editor (just write us for the details). There you can see any skills and how they work. Also you can check what is the maximum locked state for a door in the game, for example. (So you can find out how much unlock skill points you'll need for those doors.)
For more detailed rules in the game, I can't help you because the guy who built/programmed these rules exactly in the game left the group long ago.
