A New Challenge

Postby wolf3167 » Wed May 07, 2014 11:41 am

Hi guys, you may remember me as the guy who did the blog. Anyways, I've beaten TQ countless (over 30, no exaggeration) times, and am thinking of doing a challenge run through the main game. I will post my progress in a similar fashion to the blog, but in less detail. If you have any ideas for a challenge, please post them! I will pick one in 3 days.

How about do a run w/out spending skill points. You can still enchant items that increase skills, and you can also spend attribute points.

Actually on second thought, I would rather not do the no-level up challenge because I already know what I would do: the Mithria dash and play cards until I had at least 100k. Then I would get a maxed set of enchanted Mithrian gear, a load of scrolls, wands, and potions to boost various stats, and power through the main quest, killing enemies with wands and scrolls, and being almost invincible with my +AC/Magic Res. Suit and potions.

Any other ideas? If all else fails I can still try this one.

What if you try to play through w/out enchanting any items, or using pre-enchanted items. This would be especially hard for a nogur, with them needing high magic resist, making you very dependant on potions.

Or the no shopping challenge. : ) You only can use armor/weapons/spells which you find somewhere in the world, or which you get from killed monsters, or which you get from people after finishing their quests. (I don't know if it's possible or not, it's just another idea. : )

What's this "no walk challenge"? Is it what the name implies, or am I being stupid ?

I will start my challenge run soon. I want to tidy up some loose ends on my current Playthrough first, (Celtic Doom and HOL5), though, so post any more challenges you can think of.

Two ideas. Try a play though without using any melee attacks (other than activating things). My other idea is playing without any magic at all (including mark and recall). You can only use magic if it is needed for a quest.

You could do a playthrough with no loading and no deaths. You only save when you have to get off an only load when you get back on, no redoing things an if you die, you die. You have to just make a new character

Right, I had actually forgotten about it. I won't be too busy for the next month so maybe will start in the next couple days.

What about a no saving and gimped leveling play through?

Rules:
1-All items are fair
2- No going to expansions
3- No saving unless finishing a session of playtime
4- You may spend all 5 attribute points upon leveling, but only 5 skill points PER level. This would effectively half your level as far as skills are concerned.

Yes/no/maybe so?

EDIT- and also, for good measure, must play as a Seiry. First post tomorrow?

I like this, but I guess by all items being fair, you mean no mythrian dash?
