Hey all, long time fan of the quest, loved all the expansions and almost every aspect of the game About 3 years ago though I upgraded to android meaning I couldn't play the quest anymore but when I heard it was being released on android os's my heart fucking leaped. I read an earlier post asking no release dates to be mentioned but would it be possible to have an approximate day, week or month when the android version will be released? Many thanks redshift! King

Still working on the iPad version. I'll start on the Android version after that. I can't give you an exact date, but hopefully summer?

It should be easy to install all data on SD card on Android. On some devices you just can't move applications to an external memory card easily and without many possible problems while there isn't enough storage in the device memory to install anything big.
If you have anything for Windows PC or Android to betatest, definitely count me in, please. I love all of your work very much, and I enjoy replaying my favorite games over and over again.

I admit I was following the game, the series even for some time. I was able to play it on iPhone 3G till it broke unfortunatelly. I can still play it on my good-old Palm T|X The idea of Android port of the game seem pretty nice. I have smartphone on Android currently and it would be good to take The Quest to it I hope the port will be a great success \o/ Here is some nostalgia view to keep the game alive ^_^ EDIT #1 Ah~! Sorry for the oversized photo, I kinda forgot about it. I have changed the code to show only medium thumbnail (clickable to open in normal size in new tab/window). Sorry for the trouble.

Yeah if you need any testers for Android please sign me up! I cannot wait for The Quest to be available on Android I've been waiting years for this! REDSHIFT rocks! And so does Zarista;)

Working on it continuously. I think it'll be completed this month, yes. But testing is another matter. We'll see.

Gee people, give our Admin some air to breathe I know you want to see the app as fast as possible - me included - but let's take logical approach here. We have waited that much time, we can wait a bit longer. Don't make the Admin drink too much coffee because of all this Let's go instead kick some monsters and do quests in the meantime, it will pass time pretty nicely, give us some gold/exp/items, then we will come back and wow done! About testing whether before public release or after, I'm willing to help testing the game on few diffrent smartphones with the variety of Android from 4.x to 6.0 including some customised OS. I guess that will give some nice test data to check on :3

The game will require OpenGL ES3 capable devices. Which also means the minimum OS version will be Android 4.4 KitKat.

We'll release our own expansion, "Islands of Ice and Fire", just like on every other platform. The others are by third parties, mainly Zarista Games. First, I'll have to update the editor, so it's capable of creating expansions for the new game version. That's the plan after the Android version's release. I'll add Steamworks integration to the Steam version, so anyone will be able to create expansions. Although that'll be a lot of work... When (if) that's out, Zarista can decide if they want to update any of their expansions. Even then, there might be problems, as my understanding is that most of the new graphics added to their expansions were created by Sylon, and he is extremely busy with The Quest 2. But if any good expansions do get created for the Steam version, I'm hopeful we can release them for iOS and Android too.

Sylon just did some new graphics for us but yes, he is extremely busy right now. I think we could probably remake all our expansions in HD using the Quest base HD graphics.
But we need the editor, which is a work in progress. We'll get there when we can.
Without an editor for the new HD Quest, we can't do anything with our expansions on any platform that requires the HD base game. But I think we gave you a lot of joy and still are on the old Quest game platforms, including ios expansions so if this is it for us---we will continue as we can.
Right now we're working on Dragon Jade which is an expansion for the old Quest. That's enough I think to give those of you who have the old Quest game on PC and ios a new world to explore. Not on Android, sadly but we depend on the new HD Quest editor for that, which as Elendil said is in the works but not here yet.
