Playing a Mage/Rogue Is much more fun

I decided to get rid of my fighter that I was using as it required much less strategy using melee and was boring. I think that with games like this and eschalon book 1, 2 series, its much more strategic and fun to use a mage or archer build.

My mage that I'm using although he is a spell caster, his skills and attributes are very much like a rogue or bard type character. I give 1 to dex, 1 to endurance, 1 to intelligence and 2 to personality. Im making him more of a bard as his high personality will make him very much an agent that uses personality for defense and offense. Whats more, personality is tied with some mage defenses and certain spells although I will only use environmental magic and attack magic.

Its much more fun with games like the quest and other games where you get 1 action/movement to use ranged weapons/spells as you actually have to time your moves and use terrain as an advantage. Melee while in other games is fun, in the quest this is boss.

Sounds like fun. I'm playing a Fighter/Mage myself, but have been having great fun with bows lately.

The problem with the whole Mage deal is that although magic may be fun for the main game and a couple of expansions you are screwed over after 2 or 3 Addons. This is because the enemies eventually get extremely high magic resistance, making attack magic useless. Other than that magic is very enjoyable.

Playing a thief, with no real primary combat skills XD Just accuracy, speech, mercantile, steal, disarm and LP. It's quite the challenge, but i'm having a blast XD
