I haven't been playing the quest for a while so thats why i'm asking so
many questions, but how do you restore lost xp?

There are yellow orbs that you can touch to restore lost xp. The first appearance of these (that I'm aware of) is in HOL I, in the school of magic. It's right next to Cat's door.
