Gold coins

I opened a chest and it had 8 gold coins in it, what do I do with them?

Is this on Islands of Ice and Fire or the main game. I don't remember squat about Ice and Fire if that's the case.

I found were to sell them, it's at the place were that magic carpet takes you that Baba Yaga gives you. If they have another purpose, I've yet to find it.
