I brought back Gorjan his dad's chain mail back, he thanked me, but the quest doesn't clear from my journal. Is this a glitch, or am I missing something

Bring back ALL the items that were in that alcove: you get to keep the wand, but he wants everything else.

Well, as far as I remember all he needs is that old rusty mail. Are you sure you got that item, and not something similar?

Yea I brought it all back, he even thanked me for returning the goods for him.

So the quest is completed, but it does still appear on your active quest list? Hm... Then it's a bug. Sorry. I've never heard anything similar with this quest.

Maybe you need to simply give the chest to the master lock pick in Vastares first. If that doesn't do the trick, I don't know what the hell will.

I checked it within the editor: it should work. Right when you give Gorjan the armor the quest is solved and he gives you the chest. It's in the same script window. Probably when you gave him the armor the game crashed or something else happened and the script couldn't run to the end? Hm. If you are really sure you gave him the right armor (check again your inventory and/or try to go back to him again to see what happens) you should send your saved game to Elendil, probably he'll be able to fix that.
