I'm a level 9 derth and i downloaded the lost archipielagos expansion. I got to the harbor and sailed there. I got the keys to the lighthouse and teleported to the fighting forest..... And now i die at the first enemy (as the gates open) - every time! How do i get back? There are no enemies (i think) on the first small island to grind on, and i've overwritten all my save games from before i sailed, so i'm stuck. I genuinly cannot face restarting the game from scratch so i may just give up playing Quest altogether. Any suggestions/help?

Well unless you have the mark/recall spells, and you have a marked place in Freymore, there is no way to get back unless you beat the expansion, sorry. However, restarting really isn't that bad, I restarted my first charecter, when he was level 13. I wasn't pleased w/ the shield skill, so I made a new person. It goes by a lot faster b/c you essentially know how to complete most o the quests. So you could make an even stronger charecter by starting over.

Ok thankyou prickett, i had the mark and recall spells but never used them, so that's a lesson for other newbies like me. I'll restart and try again.

Just an FYI, magic is nearly useless in the expansions due to enemies having such a high resistance. You should also be more careful with your saves. Always have a backup save. You've got 20 save slots so you should have plenty of room for extra saves.

So derth is useless?

Well not necessarily, if there are a few expansions that you can use magic on, but the higher end ones enemies will have a very high magic resist (typically 100%) so if you just want to do the main game, you should be fine.

Well i was thinking about buying and playing all the expansions, am i wasting my time (and money)? Is magic really so useless? Thanks for the info.

The only magics that are useless are attack magic, and offensive undead magics. All the others can be used throughout as far as I know. If you wanna play through all of the expansions, I suggest a warrior type class.

I'm gonna take a risk and stick with Derth, ty guys, loving this game(s),,,, best rpg on app store by a long way. . Oh and does anyone know if my character can be carried over to The Quest 2 when it is released?

I'm not 100% sure, but that is likely a no. The quest two will be a completely different game, not an expansion. On top of that you will play as king mersant from what I understand.

My character is a Derth and I'm doing fine. I planned on using magic but later found out it won't be effective in the long run, so now I use melee. I still use spells for support tho such as healing and paralyzing enemies. I'd suggest you pick your main skills very carefully.. They can make everything much easier or harder depending on what you choose. Also, there are some things you can do to make the game super easy.. Like going into higher level expansions and getting strong gear. Just make sure you've got Mark and Recall first.
