Races and expansions

Postby Winter9 » Thu Jul 24, 2014 8:42 am

Hi.

I played the quest quite a bit before on my older ipod, But it broke, and I started a new with Etherim as my race. I'm more of a heavy weapon, melee type, I Just thought maybe I would need ranged.
I'm at level 5 now and I Have spent points on developing light armour which I read now Is useless. Should I Just start over with a race that fits me? I want to play the later exp. So I need a charachter that van go all the way.. It's still early in the game, so I need to Know now..

I suggest starting over as a character that fits you better. Like I've told other people, if you've done the quests up to lvl five, they don't take nearly as long the second time around, what with you knowing where everything is in that quest. I didn't get my character right the first time, I restarted about 3 times before I made the character I finished the game with.

I'm a heavy weapon, melee type and I fight as a Nogur. That has always worked for me.

Ranged is useful sometimes but you can still use bows as a Nogur.

Race is not a big deal. Once you get to level 20 (or even 10) you will not even notice a difference unless you pay very close attention to your stats. Play whatever you like; light armor is good if you play as a Mage but mages are shit so I wouldn't recommend it.

Old Shaman plays as a Rasvim with light weapons and armor---bows---and he basically pawns every monster.

: )

It's best to try things and see what works for you.

Well yeah, in higher level expansions you can use whatever you please, but for the main game, here is how things work (in general):

Heavy Armor
-Higher AC
-More pricey (not a big deal)
-Less enchant storage, not designed for Mages
-Weighs more

Light Armor
-Considerably less AC
-inexpensive
-Much more enchant storage (very useful and can make up for having less AC)
-Most players will at least wear SOME light armor, as a cape and usually as a belt. Though there are some heavy belts, most are considered light, and receive bonuses from the player' slight armor skill.
