Archmage's Gloves Quest- Can't break window or find lamp?

Hello! I go to Julius' house, and I am able to click on the mirror, I go outside and click on the lamps, no message appears to deactivate the force field.

So when I decide to just break in, I melee every window around, and yet nothing happens; there's no way to break into the house.

Even when I try to go back and get the book to convince the apprentice to let me in, she says she still doesn't trust me, even though my Persuade is 30 just like the guide says!

Can anyone help?

If memory serves me, you have to tap the lamp to the left if you're facing the door. It is a little out of the way, so keep looking for it.
