Help with Quest DirectionI'm REALLY loving this game, but I'm always running out of quests to do. I know there are plenty left in the game because I'm only level 14. I managed to make it to Mithria fairly early in the game, so that "epic journey" is over.

Re: Help with Quest DirectionYou do need to seek out the mysterious man. He'll give you lots of quests, and these lead to finishing up the main quest. There is also the treasure island in Phryn, which is pretty fun.
Re: Help with Quest Direction
Cool, thanks! ![]()
Re: Help with Quest DirectionMysterious man lives on the western edge of phryn in skrvyen keep. Once you talk to him he will open the blocked part of mithria and you will be able to teleport between mithria and phryn

Re: Help with Quest DirectionAlso, attempt to talk to EVERY door and unique people walking around ( people with names other than "villager" or "citizen" ) there are plenty of quests around the whole world.

Re: Help with Quest DirectionYou've almost finished the "core game", believe it or not. Depending on how many extra quests you do and if you grind (which you shouldn't), you will be level 14-20 upon finishing the game and moving to I&F
Re: Help with Quest Direction
Awesome, thanks! That will definitely be my next stop. ![]()
Re: Help with Quest Direction
Ah, I never really noticed the names. I always just thought the wondering villagers were just filler for the towns. I'll definitely start looking for the ones with proper names now. ![]()
Re: Help with Quest Direction
Whoa, really?!? That's crazy! LOL! Oh well, I've still got a metric boatload of expansions to play through afterward, so it's all good. ![]()
Re: Help with Quest DirectionOh yeah for the treasure island quest make sure you save BEFORE going to the island. Once there there is no way back unless you finish the quest. Also there is no teleporting magic allowed and NO MAP. This quest is the most difficult in the basic game. Have fun

Re: Help with Quest Direction
Whoa, that sounds pretty crazy! Thanks for the heads up! So, is it worth all of the trouble to complete this quest (i.e. is the loot really good)?
Re: Help with Quest DirectionFor this quest you should knock on every door in Phryn. Mostly in the village's western part. : )
BTW, there are around 50-60 quests in the base game so if you have much less now in your quest list you still have much to do! (Also, I hope you don't play the game on a PC because that version doesn't contain the Treasure Island quest.)
Re: Help with Quest Direction
Thanks for the tip! I managed to find this quest the other day (I'm playing on my iPhone). ![]()
Re: Help with Quest DirectionI think it's worth it. You get a lot of scrolls and Magog items, worth quite a bit of gold. I say go for it.
Re: Help with Quest Direction
Cool, cool! I think I'll do that before the Mysterious Man quests then. ![]() On a side note, does anyone know when/if more offhanded weapons are introduced? I've got the Thieve's Sword, but it looks like that's about it for good ones.
Re: Help with Quest DirectionThe thieves sword is one of the best damaging offhands in the base game. (That's not sayin much out of a couple of offhand swords) the next upgrade will be in fire and ice called a "master shortsword". At least thats from my experience playing the base game twice with dual wield.

Re: Help with Quest Direction
That's what I was thinking since I've never found anything else in the base game. I'll definitely be looking forward to that Master Shortsword, though. ![]()
Re: Help with Quest DirectionThere is a Rogue Short Sword too in the base game which has a little more damage than Thurm's Thief Sword.
Re: Help with Quest Direction
Oops, you know what, that's the one I currently have equipped. LOL! I was just thinking thief instead of rogue. ![]() ![]()
Re: Help with Quest DirectionThis will sound bad, but when I go to weapon stores I completely ignore names and look directly at the numbers.

Re: Help with Quest Direction
Oh, I'm the SAME way too! ![]()
Re: Help with Quest DirectionIt's kind of unfortunate. I do wish there were other attributes that made a weapon desirable as opposed to raw numbers and a couple of + ability scores. I hope to see improvements in such areas in the sequel as well.

Re: Help with Quest Direction
True. Maybe they can make the type of metal the weapon is made from more instrumental in what enemies it affects. For example: An obsidian blade causes more damage to undead. Any extra enchantments would just add to its effectiveness.
Re: Help with Quest DirectionI was thinking more along the lines of having more horizontal progression. Have different items be useful in different ways. It would be a system that encourages you to have more than one item of every type for various strategies and situations and not just for the numbers. Of course there would still be "vertical" progression like there is in TQ, and you would still have the numbers; you would just have a reason to have multiple items for your character, encouraging and requiring greater strategy and letting the player be more versatile.
Re: Help with Quest DirectionDo you mean like two-handed swords and the like, As opposed to just one handed weapons?
