Help me! How do I complete the quest in the starting village where I need to find out about smuggling for the mayor. How do I complete this quest?

When you go down into the crypt to shut off the gas, there's another path to take. When you take this path, there will be a button in the hallway that leads to the area where the goods are being kept. Return to the mayor with news, and you'll complete the quest.
