I can't find the Orc idol in the water. I looked up the walk through on thequest.wikia.com, but the idol isn't in the water on the north shore right after crossing into the next zone like it says it should be. Is this a glitch??

It's all correct. Have you tried touching things?
To find the idol, stand right in front of Osman (approach him from the north),take 9 steps to the west, then 1 to the south and touch the plant.
