Repair skill and spiked floors?

Does the repair skill slow the degradation of gear or just the chance to repair with repair hammers? Are hammers cheaper than visiting shop?

Is there a way to disarm floor spikes? Like the ones in front of arena?

Floor spikes cannot be disarmed. You have to bear the damage.

Higher repair skill helps increase your repair chances and lowers wear on the repair hammers themselves. If you ever reach 120 in repair skill, repairs become instantaneous and the repair hammer you use doesn't degrade at all. It's certainly cheaper than the shops then. As for which one is better otherwise, you have to find out yourself. (I have no idea actually. )
