What can you use the unlock spell. I have tried it on locked doors but nothing.

It may be that the doors you're trying to use it on are not unlockable. In Mad Dwarves' Castle in LukoII, unlock is a good spell to have.

Unlock spells (either what you cast or from wands) have a level. If they are lower level than the locks, they won't work. And of course some doors are not unlockable by the spell, no matter the level.
