I am trying to obtain a Recharge Wand spell book.

I have checked the magic shop in Vastares probably over 100 times.

I found many spell books there, but not Recharge Wand.

Finally, I googled for whether that particular spell can be purchased in Vastares.

The AI response said "yes!".

However, it also said that the shopkeeper usually has it in stock, which is certainly not the case for me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Every shop sells items belonging to a certain "quality level". For example the magic shop in Vastares sells "Normal" quality items. A Recharge Wand spellbook is "Superior" quality.

You won't be running into Recharge Wand spellbooks until later.

(The whole "vagueness" of what you (can) get is intended. The game is intended to be played by just going with what you get, exploring and adjusting and not really getting you character optimized to the max or creating very specific builds. I mean, you can certainly can, but then you are playing a different kind of game, not recommended for your first playthrough. And as you've discovered it requires knowledge without which you might get misled by AI... )

Most of my efforts to find the soell book were at character level 2 or 3 (I played cards, to have sufficient gold for the purchase).

I had intended to largely base my character on recharging wands.

I'm glad to learn that I will (apparently) eventually be able to do so.
