Problem with Lord Solamar

I started this because I could not give Lord Solamar one of my 15 full healing potions, but as I was typing I realized all of my full healing potions were of the homemade variety apparently even though he asks if you have the skill to make a potion these will not work.

I tried a purchased full healing potion and he took that just fine

First time the lord asks for a simple (not homemade) full healing potion - if you have one, you can give it to him without any problems. But if you don't have one, he asks you about a homemade OR a simple full healing potion - so if you have any of them he'll take it for the second time. (But you have to hurry because he's dying - you have one day to complete this quest.)
