Help for best possible character?

Postby Connorj97 » Tue Jul 17, 2012 5:19 pm

Hi all! What a great game, props to Redshift for one of the best RPGs I've ever played!! Anyway, I've played through the main quest once or twice, but I haven't been satisfied with my characters. Does anybody have recommendations for the best possible character?

I don't think there is a best possible character. I've always played as a Nogur. But my friends tell me Rasvims have more fun. : )

Rasvim is, in my opinion, the best possible starting character, but only if you know how to play smart, in other words if you have experience, or are naturally good at these types of games, in general it will be very challenging when facing mages at the start but that will improve with time, and equipment enchantments, they are extremely versatile and are literally the perfect race for a battlemage (even better than derth) and they're not half bad warriors either, and of course, the kicker: undead spells, whereas the healing spells you have back with the living only heal you per se you still take damage from the enemie's attacks, however as rasvim you could be facing an indescribably powerful opponent, but, if you have enough mana, and he doesn't one shot you, you could take him down by using drain touch spells the entire time, (I managed to clear an extremely difficult dungeon at a relatively low level using that strategy in the main game) however the downside to the undead magic is of course, that it will eventually become virtually useless, not because of magic resistance but because the damage from your weapons will be tenfold that of your spells, so you would need to use your weapons seeing as it would be tedious to use drain health over and over (attack spells at one point become laughable at, but don't despair if you like Mage type characters because protection, environment, ect are still incredibly useful) however the healing part of the draining spells still work, so it's not a total loss. Also, for some reason it's really cool to be a living, intelligent, invincible corpse, but warning, you will learn to hate the town guards, and love fellow undead creatures from the way they treat you.

But really once you reach a certain level it doesn't matter what you choose, the enchantments and weapons and spells will make the differences at the beggining look like a joke, but if you want (even more) information then check out the character creation guide in another part of the forums

This is basically everything I was going to say. I find Rasvims the most powerful but there really is no best way to make a character.
