I’ve been through Verton’s Apothocary (have Fools Gold). Supposed to “tap a crack”? I think I’m out of cracks to tap.

Any more hints?

You tapped the crack to get the Fool's Gold. Now with the Fool's Gold in your inventory, tap the shelf in the north. You should meet a spirit.
