New Races?in the new quest, will there be any new races?
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() When you look back at posts from a few years ago and your general writing ability was more comparable to an ape tripping on LSD and slamming the keyboard with its fists than an actual human being...
Re: New Races?I hope so, though I've heard nothing. I would love to see a dwarf be added! What new races were you looking for?
Re: New Races?More races would be a nice feature and will presumably be added to the game, but if anything I would rather see the five existing races balanced properly and magic give each some unique dialogue (other than Rasvim) as well as a unique quest or two.
Re: New Races?I'm kind of hoping for some non human, possibly non humanoid races with more unique abilities
Hail Mersant!
Re: New Races?i'm hoping for a race completly made up like all the others which can use all magic
though, a orc race would be cool When you look back at posts from a few years ago and your general writing ability was more comparable to an ape tripping on LSD and slamming the keyboard with its fists than an actual human being...
Re: New Races?Derths are truly the superior race. It is only natural that the people want more of them. Perhaps what we need isn't new races (Though more would be greatly welcomed), but more customization of the races that we already have. And a way to punish foolish NPCs who insult us in-game.. That would be nice.
Re: New Races? That would be extremely nice.
"Hi corpse breath"... (Guards discover body of a middle-aged Etherim two hours later) And no way, Etherim is clearly the best race! Derth get bonuses to only magical attributes, Etherim are kickass in general! Race war!
Re: New Races? My Derth will cut down anyone who dares oppose him. You petty Etherims don't stand a chance.
Re: New Races?Nogur anyone?
Re: New Races?Nah, Etherim is the most balanced. Played one to level 140. THAT is grinding.

Re: New Races?Holy crap! I didn't even know levels went that high! But once you get a nogurs magic resistance up, he'll destroy anything.
Re: New Races?Wow, what were your stats like at that level?
Here are mine: LV:26 STR: 385 DEX: 471 END: 671 INT: 200 PER: 92 AC: 908 HP: 2462 SP: 775 All Resistances are at 100%
Re: New Races?I can check when I get to my ipod. They were ridiculously high, complemented by my mathematically perfected gear. Prickett- I believe there IS no level cap.
Re: New Races?New races would definitely be an awesome feature, though I think they should each have more unique features (such as unique spell classes or poisonous/infectious attacks).
I would also love to see a stealth ability, temporarily hiding you from the enemies or even sneaking up on foes. Moreover I would be pleased if there were some amplification spells for you to deal more melee/distance damage or to walk faster (2 tiles/turn instead of one) or to simply dodge enemy attacks. These skills should imho be bound to certain races (how about an elven race for instance?)
Re: New Races?Wow. No love for the Rasvim? Dang guys, yall clearly are missing out on the true superiority of the undead
"This won't stop your soul from getting ripped out, but at least you'll look good when your corpse hits the ground."
Re: New Races? As we know the current existing races all represent a style of character:
Rasvim --> Undead Seiry --> Thief Etherim --> Elf(?) Derth --> Magic user, teacher Nogur --> Warrior Imo these races are pretty well defined, just need better balancing and more interactions between races and make them more distinct to each other. If any suggestion about new races I would suggest something like: (New race A): focuses on physical defense and resistant to diseases. Has a sense of honour and vows to protect innocent people, and is generally respected by either humans or other races. (New race B): half dragon half human. With the blood of dragons they have excellent talent in attack magic and beyond-average physical strength and endurance. Their resistance against physical or magical damage is also better than average human or even Etherims, however they have extremely terrible recovery as normal healing potions and magic has reduced effect on them as well. Socially they don't interact with people much, keeping things to themselves makes them seem distant to others. These are currently what I came up with :p Feel free to discuss tgt ![]() I'm just a little hero living in a small village who saved them from noxious gas and smuggling problems. Oh and also freed the surrounding area of robbers and rogue archers

Re: New Races?I want a half hobbit/ half giraffe? Hmm no not that one... But half breeds are a cool idea!! Like mixing a nogur with a derth or sumthin? They gain some class specific abilities as well as lose some?
Rasvim
Re: New Races? You know, those races actually sound pretty good. They seem well balanced, having flaws to match their strengths.
Re: New Races? While I think that we need to be able to choose from more races (that are a little more balanced this time around), I think that expansion developers would love to be able to create their own races. This would most definitely lead to some interesting gameplay

Re: New Races?Creating their own characters WOULD be interesting..Just think of the variety there would be!!

Re: New Races? What's with every race having magic vulnerability besides one? I'd like some balanced ones too
Rasvim
Re: New Races?
That's chiefly what I meant by saying "a little more balanced this time around."
Re: New Races?I like the idea of having non-cliche races, such as illithid type mindflayers, and naga, as well as possibly something aquatic. I also likes "minotaur" as a chooseable race, and if they decide to include, a berserking ability, which removes armor class, but increases damage/hits per turn.
Btw, dual wield should hit twice. Not just one swing with a weapon, but both weapons animated--something like that. Whereas two-handed would have only one swipe. Also, I hope they put out a more helpful manual this time, I still can't figure out what some of the enchantments mean, such as "fortify unholy." Lastly, I hope this game arrives on Steam! ![]()
Re: New Races?Ok so elves (high elves, ice elves, snow elves) would be AWESOME!!! Dwarves would be neat (although let's face it Elves are WAY cooler than dwarves although they make good set pieces) (I.e. dwemer ruins, dwarven equipment, dwarven robots). An equatic race would be nice (it's not actually my idea I'm just agreeing), and orks would be cool to, and maby goblins.
