How to get in the Castle of Eldfell

"To enter the castle of Eldfell you need to talk to the innkeeper in Eldfell"

So it is written in the forum of redshift. I did so. I talked to him but wether day or night at the castle appears a sighn "no idea how to open the door"...

Could anybody help?

You should have a Governor's Pass (go check the shelf in your house to be sure you didn't leave it there!)

The only more common problem in Ice & Fire is that pesky teleporter in the passage to thule Can't begin to think how many times that one was asked at PH

How do I get the teleporter to Thule to work?

Turn around and close the door The governor did mention it, don't feel bad so many people (almmost everyone) forgot (incuding me!!)

I am also having that problem, but I'm much further. I am to the point in the main quest where you have to talk to the Governor about the Beast after starting the murder quest. When I go to the door, it says, "You cannot see any method of opening this door."

Thread is old, but I have the same problem. Cant enter the castle during murderer quest... Any ideas?

Hmm, make sure you still have the governors pass in your inventory. If you don't, check the shelves in your house, you might have dropped it off there.

I found it with a lot of other stuff in a chest in Eldfell. Randomly.

Oh no! I put the governor’s pass in a chest...inside the Governor’s Castle! It was the easiest chest in Eldfell to remember, and I didn’t know I needed the pass anymore. I’m locked out. Is there any way to get the pass again? The innkeeper is no help. I’ve put so many hours into this game...
