All mobs respawned?! Wtf!

Hey everyone, I just finished the main quest of the islands (talked to Mersant at the port and read the epilogue) and wanted to finish some remaining side quests... But every single enemy on the islands is respawned now, even the flesh eaters (which makes my victory over Boad pretty useless... Indeed I should look if he also respawned...)
Has anyone a clue how this could happen?

Monsters respawn every 7 days. It's part of the game mechanics.

They only respawn if you ahven't been in that area for 7 days this means any surface map square or dungeon.
