clearing quests i cannot complete

I have two outstanding quests that I cannot complete.

Find undertakers missing jewlery, I recieved the items but i think i sold them
and
train candidadtes for bodyguarding, I have actually completed the main quest and the governor has been killed so cannot finish this quest.

Can I get these two quests removed or failed? It is REALLY bugging me to have them in the list but i cannot do them....any help?

This is by design. All succeeding/failing of quests is by script. If something happens which was not thought about, quests can remain outstanding.

Well, it's not the best design but I can understand why it was created this way. It can get tricky trying to come up with something better.

In any case, if it's that bothersome, please send us a save and I'll fail them for you, for this once.
