During one of the quests my character obtain a blue simple Key.
I have no idea what it could be used for as there was no clue in the game. Any help is appreciated.

The key is connected to one of the new quests, added to the updated expansion. Those are a few little fun additions to previously empty areas. I don't remember the details but it's called "arnetas_key" internally. If you met her and finished the quest involving her, then you don't need it anymore. If not, look out for her.
