Need a Vastares Guide! Help!

Hi all, I'm new to The Quest, I've known about it for years but just recently purchased the standard version of the game. I've found myself stuck in Castares because I don't know what to do. I can't get to the city wall, I'm too weak. Also, I've wandered around a lot and can't find a quest, and I'm going broke. If anyone would be willing to help that would be excellent. Thanks guys!

Hey Milk, welcome to the forums!
If you're weak, you need to get yourself some armor and gather some skill points by levelling up. Defeating weak monsters like archers and robbers around Matras is a good starting point to become stronger. (Young Archers drop 50 gold coins, Highwaymen drop 100)
If you want to get money easily, go to the inn in Vastares (or in Matras) and save your game right in front of the inn's door. Then play cards with the highest bet. If you win, save your file again and play another round. If you don't, reload the game, so you can only end up with more money
After levelling up, spend your points carefully. I recommend improving Strength (increases the damage you take) and Endurance (increases max health), but you can experiment with them.
If you're looking for quests, here are some: Nobleman's inheritance in the Castle of Vastares, Sohea's mortar and Yann's book in Vastares - Pine Quarter, Holy Chrism in the Crypt of the Donnen Dynasty (entry from the Cemetery of Vastares)

Thanks a bunch! That money trick may come in handy. Guess I'll just have to grind a bit too. I have been trying to get the Nobleman's inheritance quest completed but I can't persuade the jeweller to come with me or anything, and I've talked to the one builder and can't get to him seemingly anymore. Any advice on what to do?

Persuade of at least lvl 26 should do the trick.
There's Lena who can raise this skill for you for money.
You need to make many choices (save/load to see different outcomes, if you like)
