Specific order for expansions to be played in?Hello everyone, I have recently stumbled upon this game, and have absolutely no idea how I have missed this over the years! This game looks amazing, and one of my favorite genres of games, so will definitely be picking it up soon. I did have a few questions though about starting out. I'm guessing that 'The Quest' is what I should start with, but is it best to buy the bundle of Quest Gold for a few extra expansions? Also, there seem to be a lot of expansions out, is there a certain order that they are best played in? Like after playing one, another expansion picks up around the level you finished the previous one, and the difficulty should match that level? Or does it even matter the order they are played in? Any info would be greatly appreciated on this, thanks!
Re: Specific order for expansions to be played in?I'm curious too. Some expansions said lvl 45 is a requirement, but some didn't have anything listed at all
Re: Specific order for expansions to be played in?There are different "series", I you will, of expansions to be played, often noted by Roman numerals after the title. In the App Store descriptions, it will tell you the suggested levels you should be. And if you've yet to buy the standard quest, I would suggest buying the Gold version. You'll receive the base game, the Islands of Ice and Fire, and Hero of Lukomorye I&II.
Re: Specific order for expansions to be played in?That sounds like good advice. : ) Also I'm making a new expansion with the old Quest editor while we wait for the new one. : ) It will be low level. Cursed Stone. Takes place in and about Scotland, based on myths and legends of the Isle of Skye.
Suggest you buy the Quest Gold and then continue with the HOL expansions when you want to play to a higher level. Each series of expansions start out low level and then go up. For example--you have HOL I through HOLV-- Mithril Horde I and II-- Elemental Asteroids, Escape from Asteroids, Attack from Asteroids Celtic Rift, Celtic Queen, Celtic Doom Cursed Chess Set is low level -- play it whenever you feel like it. : ) I forget what else but those are more or less our expansions.
Re: Specific order for expansions to be played in?Some of the story of our new expansion---the fishermen of Tobar's Well on Cloud Island have asked for your help. They worry they'll lose their livelihood and their families will starve as their Fair Weather Stone has been cursed. Lately their catch has been almost nonexistent.
The Stone was recently the site of a double murder. The local chieftain, Rory MacRainn robbed and murdered a village girl there. When the chieftain's son threatened to expose him, he killed him at the Stone and threw his severed head down their well. Now the ghost of chieftain's son haunts their village and his blood runs from their Good Fortune Stone. They fear their village is doomed. Can you clear the curse? Can you avenge the girl? Or will this be the end of your adventures. ![]()
Re: Specific order for expansions to be played in?LoL..I like the face, Cat!..This sounds extremely interesting to me! I like the Scottish theme a lot! I'm excited for this game, thanks for sharing the news about it!. ![]() Beckie
Re: Specific order for expansions to be played in?Thanks for the info!
Re: Specific order for expansions to be played in?You should play something between
Elemental Asteroids and Escape/Attack from Asteroids; HoLII and HoLIII; Both Mithril Horde are best played with the same character you use to play through the HoL series, I think. The Celtic expansions can be played in order without any other expansions in-between. It's not difficult. Attack magic is very effective in Celtic Queen and the crossbows in celtic doom are very powerful. I'd say use one character to play all of the very high-level expansions (40+). If you're not very interested in battles and character development you can play them all with one hero. The best order to play them in is the order you like most (not that you can tell what it is until you play the games. The Quest Gold is very good)
Re: Specific order for expansions to be played in?Based upon the recommended level per expansion I would suggest the following
-Cursed Chess Set or Celtic Rift (good to start new) -Islands of Ice and Fire (at least level 14) -Elemental Asteroids (at least level 17) -Hero of Lukomorye I (at least level 22) -Hero of Lukomorye II (at least level 32) -Celtic Queen or Mithril Horde (at least level 35) -Mithril Horde II (at least level 35 but should do M.H. I first) -Hero of Lukomorye III (at least level 38) -Escape from Asteroids (at least level 40) -Hero of Lukomorye IV or Lost Archipelagos (at least level 45) -Attack from Asteroids (at least level 58) -Hero of Lukomorye V (at least level 61) -Celtic Doom (at least level 75) But how the expansions go in sets -Celtic Trilogy 1. Celtic Rift 2. Celtic Queen 3. Celtic Doom -Hero of Lukomorye 1. Hero of Lukomorye I 2. Hero of Lukomorye II 3. Hero of Lukomorye III 4. Hero of Lukomorye IV 5. Hero of Lukomorye V -Mithril Horde 1. Mithril Horde I 2. Mithril Horde II -Asteroids Trilogy 1. Elemental Asteroids 2. Escape from Asteroids 3. Attack from Asteroids I could be wrong but I believe the rest of the expansions are stand alone, I hope this helps you guys ![]()
