Hi Elendil, Is there any news about the release date of iPad version of the The Quest? I wrote to you a while ago and at that time you were hoping to have the iPad version ready for release in April. Well of coarse that time has come and gone. I understand that indie developers have all sorts of hurdles to overcome and release dates are not always met. I was just curious if you can shed any light on when it might be released. My money is burning a hole in my pocket. cheers, stubbieoz ps. I already have the iPhone version as well as the Steam version. I really like your game.

I'm working on the iPad version right now. More than likely it'll be finished in early June.

Thanks for the quick reply Elendil, Really looking forward to playing the Game on my iPad Pro. Just qot Titan Quest for it and it looks and plays great. Once I get The Quest my iPad gaming should be complete for at least a month or two. I appreciate you making The Quest playable on the iPad with the new graphics. It is a fantastic old school rpg

It's still a bit off, sorry. Working as fast as I can. Will be released in June, but I can't tell you more yet.

It's basically ready. Needs some more testing, then we can release. Hopefully within days, not weeks. What kind of iPad do you have? Maybe you can even help test it, if you wish.

Write to us ( redshift@redshift.hu) using the email you want to use for testing and I'll tell you what to do.

Will it be at all possible to add custom portraits to the iPad version like you can with the Steam version?

It'll work exactly like on PC.
Just create a folder hierarchy "data/worlds/bres" and put "head01.bmp" into the innermost one ("bres"). You can also use more than one image (head01.bmp - head15.bmp). The image files must be simple 128x128 pixel true color uncompressed bmps, without any additional metadata (like color space).
Then add the "data" folder to the game's documents using iTunes.
(Actually, in the test version you have, the outermost "data" folder is not used, so use "worlds/bres", but that'll change in the release version, to be no different than the PC version.)

And finally it is released for iPad! This is imho where The Quest was always meant to be. It looks absolutly brilliant on a retina screen on an iPad Pro. It even plays well on an old iPad 2. The controls, the interface, the mapping, the character creator are all first class. This version of the game has benefited from all the past updates. The game is now a solid, bug free adventure. Congrats on finally getting the game to iPad, and thanks for going to the effort of making it available. This is the best rpg available for iOS.

Any anticipated time frame when Islands of Ice and Fire might be made available for iPad?

It'll definitely have to wait for the Universal build, which is at least a week's work (if not a little bit more) I think. And I think we can release it a week after that. Sorry it got delayed, but the iPhone build got higher priority now, I hope you can understand.

I'm preparing an update at the moment. The expansion should come soon after that has been released.
