StuckJust bought this game 2 days ago and ive been very engulfed in the content. I am now level 11 down to my main quest in my log and my fame is "immoral" i chose to kill a nun with an axe for satan apparently and i hope that hasnt ruined my game because i was just reading the dialogue and accidentally clicked to accept to behead the nun for abaddon which bombed the 2 quests i was working on and im not the most liked fella anymore. My biggest dilemma is im trying to get to the next city for more quests i think "phrynn" and the highlanders and barbarians are really strong i even tried going through the marsh and the witches were getting me too..im not real sure what to do i have about 10,000 gold, no quests, immoral fame status (or worse by now) and too weak to go further, this is my first time posting here i could really use a hand. If i have to start over ill grit my teeth and do it..this is my last hope before doing so..
Re: StuckUpdate: made it to phrynn and completed a few quests got the unholy twisted rapier and a chest which i enchanted 20% magic resistance..trying to head north to continue but the mobs are too strong when they group so im going to try to focus 1 on 1/save game like i did sunken monastery if theres something else i can do to progress please let me know
Re: StuckFame/infamy has no effect on your ability to finish the game. There is even an achievement for reaching the maximum negative fame.
![]() As for getting further: make sure you have the best equipment and spent all your attribute/skill points. Although it's generally best to have matching equipment (light weapon if your light weapon skill is higher than your heavy weapon, similarly for armor), if you find a very good heavy armor, for example, although your heavy armor skill is lower than your light armor, it can still be worthwhile to wear it. Just check your damage and armor numbers after equipping different stuff. Look around for trainers and train your skills. Although you can try to be 'jack of all trades', it might be better to concentrate on the ones you use most (and presumably are primary), and their respective attributes. Like for example light weapon and dexterity. Of course if you've already spent your skill/attribute points this advice might only be relevant for later or for a new character. If you are still stuck, there are many guides available, you could check the quest quides to make sure you haven't missed any significant ones or you can read about how to get stronger too. The most significant ways to get much stronger is utilizing Alchemy and Enchanting (especially together).
Re: StuckI cant seem to find arrows anywhere to buy so im fighting with a sword and a shield with an archer or a rogue type build as far as points go..i was doing well with the bow only arrows i have gotten is quest items and the wooden arrows from the first area wandering salesman..any other areas to purchase wooden or elven arrows?
Re: StuckInventory of shops refreshes every day. So check back regularly for arrows. All weaponsmiths carry them.
Re: StuckI can advise that there is many many side quests you can do to build up your characters powers. I personally explored every square inch of the game, speaking to every single person taking notes, and making sure I didnt miss any side quests.
Of course most importantly is to always SAVE your game many times, there is 20 free save slots so use them wisely and if you think you did something wrong go back and try an alternative way of resolving the problem (as per your problem with killing the Nun) I highly recommend learning skills from everyone that teach them BEFORE you read any books. As each trainer has a skill level cap and if for example a trainer can teach heavy weapon up to 30 and you're at 25 and decide to read a +8 heavy weapon skill book which will take you to 32 when you speak to the trainer they wont be able to teach you anymore as you're already over that skill level. So always train first with trainers and then read books to increase all your skills to the best maximum you can have according to your base attributes. Lastly dont rush, take your time as i explained to explore every square inch of the map as there are so many things you can find and do which will certainly help you build a strong character. hope this helps ![]() ![]()
