The quest classic vs HD help

Hello I’m currently playing the quest “classic” and I’m very far advanced. I recently just discovered the quest HD Which looks beautiful. If I switch to this version will I lose my progress on the classic game ? Will the HD expansions work with the classic version ? Thanks in advance for your help

Neither save files nor expansions are compatible between the versions, sorry.
You'd have to start a new character.
(And it's just "The Quest" (no "HD").
