Idols of Ice and Fire

I cannot find the idols no matter where i look. Ive completed the game before but for the life of me cannot remember where go get them. Help

There are two entrances to the Caves of Fire. Use the east side one to access the idol (and other things of course).

In the Caves of Ice follow the ice road east, when you arrive at a door, turn around and keep to the right, the idol is not far.

Despite looking several more times and following this advice, I still can’t find them. Im not sure what im doing wrong

You'd just have to look at every wall then. If you enter the Caves of Fire from the east, the shelf housing the idol is accessible (you'd have to go through lava). Similarly, from the idol in the Caves of Ice is accessible from the entrance, without any intervening doors or anything.
