Personally, I love using a shield and sword. If you have high enough block, weaker enemies can't touch you and you can stop some stronger monsters, too. I also LOVE having health drain, so I play a Rasvim. Yeah, the magic weakness SUCKS, but it is easily accounted for by paralyzing anything with magic and rushing it and taking all of its life. I feel like dual wielding leaves you too exposed without a significant increase in power. Heavy weapon and block are good, and alchemy is a must if you plan on saving money.

Not even that dual wielding leaves you exposed to attacks, but there are two other negative aspects of it:
1) There are little to NO off-handed weapons in the main game, so it is hard to get a more significant increase in damage
and 2) It requires a greater than average investment in Dexterity for you to be able to dodge effectively
I always go sword and shield because of the vast variations of these weapons and armors at your disposal in the game. Therefore, it I much more enjoyable, as playthroughs are almost never the same! :)

It's most likely in guides because he would like a guide on his character and such

Yeah that was the idea but my bad, thanks to however moved it! :)

Ok great thanks for your tips!
Just one other question, when I start the quest with an expansion right at the beginning in the first town and I finished it, I'll come back with a way higher level than I should have at this time and so wont rly have fun with the main game or?

From what I understand, you shouldn't become over leveled by doing an expansion like Cursed Chess Set or Celtic right off the bat. You will end up around level 15ish by the end of the story, so I think you'll be fine. If you want to be ABDOLUTELY sure, use some more of your 20 save slots. Make a couple of saved right at the beginning, so you can get back where you were if you DO become too strong for the main game.

I play a Rasvim who specializes in undead magic and heavy weapons. It was a pretty tame fight compared to the sunken monastery. That was a lot harder, considering there were a ton of enemies and they were all ranged magic users I couldn't hurt until I was in close.
