Need HELP-Thieves Transport

Hi, I haven't played this game in a while and this time I forgot what to do with once I get to the transport site. Am I supposed to kill those guys and then take the transport to vastares inn? I was worried that I needed some papers of intro to get to the thieves guild. If there is a specific item I need i hope i didn't sell it. If anyone can help me with this, I'd be glad. Thanks.

Edit-Im lvl 12 and want to make it to the thieves guild with the transport. I just tried fighting them and after killing the transport leader, he drops a smuggled goods. The problem is that the transport guards can't be killed as their health won't go below 1.

Yup, this event is a little buggy.
If I'm not mistaken, you can slay them only in their territory: Lake of Freymore - Eastern Shore.

Talk to inkeeper Herahn in the Vastares port as soon as you get the goods.

Thanks very much for the tip! Im now doing well in the undead city. I have another bug I encountered. The dark maul I found won't smash the boulders. It says in the guide on here that the maul will break them open. Any ideas?
