Need a tip for Setup/Expansion

Postby ll1728 » Thu Jun 06, 2013 3:02 pm

Just got new comp. and want to play/get started with Quest expansions and other testing/what not.

I already have some of the expansions but from what Ive seen, they don't look that great. I played some of Celtic Rift and it was small compared to the quest and mostly didn't have as good a story. However it was possible to get into it.

Are all the expansions worth it or just the Luko 1-5? I find it kind of lame that only 1 expansion Celtic Rift happens to be the only one you can start from lvl 1. If there was another low level one that would be cool. Right now my biggest problem is that I don't want to start a luko1-5 because I usually leave a character once I complete the base game.

Oh well. Is the Quest regular expansion any good or is it not as good as the base game?

Hello!

Celtic Doom, Celtic Queen and Terror's Returnal (level 1 version ;) ) are level 1+ expansions. IMHO CCS is too boring to play with its "uber" stuff and "too uber" monsters as a low-level hero/traitor.

Every expansion is unique in its own way.

There's no expansion bigger than Freymore.

If by "Quest regular expansion" you mean Ice&Fire, then yes, it's VERY good.

Btw, anyone played FOTR (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring)? It is a great expansion!

Thanks. You are a god in human form, only it hasn't happened yet. But yeah, I find that the quest is really really good for a solo rpg. The only other ones I play are Eschalon and Fallout 1 and 2. The Quest wins hands down in my book because it has a mix of great story, excellent and almost perfect roleplaying with your stats (almost like d and d right out of it) and combat which I understand. Very important as I suck usually with turn based rpgs.

Eschalon has really cool stats and what not and is a great game. I think its a little easier to get around in eschalon as first person isn't my best, but can't hold that against the quest.

Then there's fallout which has a lot of good things all around. I still prefer fantasy.

I only hope that games like under rail and other rpgs follow the single character rpg model that makes games like this possible.

Not to ramble but I'll take your suggestion ;)
