This forum is for getting help and discussing the main game.

I posted this because of an idea I have had. My goal is to create a database of characters that players have used in The Quest. You may enter your character if they follow these rules: -They are from the main game (you may not enter characters from standalone expansions) -You may have played expansions on this character but not started with one as that wouldn't put everyone on the same playing field.
For example, my favorite character is my Etherim wolf3167. His skills were Light Weapon, Dual Wield, Light Armor, Env. Magic, Persuade and Repair. At every level put 2 points into intelligence and 2 into dexterity and alternate putting 1 point into the other attributes to balance them. The point of this thread isn't bragging, its to give players ideas of new play styles and to help new players, so post your ideas. Also you can provide more info than what I had above, thats just a bare minimum.

My thief character started off as something of a joke. A Seiry, his name is Elcid Barrett, and his tag skills are persuade, lockpick, disarm, stealth, mercantile, and accuracy. Per level I put 2 into dex and personality, and 1 into intelligence. I haven't really gotten too far, I've spent most of my time pickpocketing, playing cards and breaking out of jail

That's nice I guess. You successfully sat there and did something that anyone with time on their hands can do just to brag on a forum? Alrighty then! Please read: the purpose of this thread isn't to brag, its to help new players get started and give experienced ones ideas for future play.

@ Hobo----Well I guess you have an unusual character but it sounds like a not too traditional one that most of us would use. It sounds a bit clownish.
My base character has always been a Nogur. I started with the base Nogur stats. I'll come back and post a little more about my character when I have a chance. I always put points into heavy armor and heavy weapon when I level up but also try to sprinkle some points over the skills, especially Mercantile so I can buy low and sell high and persuade and anything else I need high skills for to get through. I always put points into Intelligence so I could get more Mark locations. : ) More Mark locations are always a big help.
In the expansions a Nogur has an advantage. : _
Another thing I did was to have special suits for my Nogur, each one was enchanted in a special way, so I'd have a magic suit, a mercantile suit, a thief's suit, etc. so whatever my base stats were, if I put on that suit, I'd have an advantage to do something that involved either high persuade, high mercantile, high stealth etc.

Well, my character when I played through the main game was a Seiry thief, with main skills Light Weapon, Light Armor, Lockpick, Accuracy, Persuade and Alchemy. Those skills were around 50 at the end of the main game. So he was not a super hero, but that's the way I wanted him to be: a fun character who can do a lot of funny things throughout the game. I spent many time in prison, just like Recruit17. : ) Most of the time I was playing cards, breaking out of all jail I could, breaking in all possible buildings, stealing from all possible NPCs, going inside towns through secret ways bypassing the guards, having fun with streetwalkers, accepting always the funniest quests and finishing them in twisty, nonlinear and sometimes immoral ways. : ) So I can't say my character was a "role model" but at least I was not worrying about the stats and gold pieces - I always had enough gold from my thief skills and from my alchemy. My only problem were the diseases I got from... well, from similarly immoral ladies. : )

Here is an idea for advanced players only. You pick Rasvim as a race, and your 6 skills are: mercantile, persuade, accuracy, stealth, lockpick, and disarm. Rasvim is part i the challenge as -50% magic resistance means shamans will eat you alive. Then you may put points into any attributes you see fit but may only put skill points into your primary skills. Then beat the game! I am seriously thinking of doing this later just for kicks.

Old Shaman whom I've known long and well is a Rasvim but he's basically invincible because he skillfully uses a bow. Long range, he can take out just about anything. : ) He puts a lot of points into Light Weapon and Light Armor and I've played his save file--he's pretty tough. : ) In fact, when I test our games, I use his save file. : )

My female Derth Shingiri. Skills were Light Armor, Heavy Weapons, Block, Attack Magic, Heal Magic, and Alchemy. Put 2 points into Intel, 1 to Endur, 1 to Strength, and 1 to either Personality or Dext.

I made a new charecter named Grim. He is a rasvim battle Mage that specializes in heavy weapons and heavy armor, block, and attack, environment, and undead magic. He is turning out to be quite the boss!

I ALWAYS MAKE MY CHARACTER A RASVIN WITH HEAVY WEOPON, BLOCK, ALL THE MAGICS AND REPAIR IT WORKS FINE FOR ME :d
When you look back at posts from a few years ago and your general writing ability was more comparable to an ape tripping on LSD and slamming the keyboard with its fists than an actual human being...

In my earlier post i talked about the rasvim with thieving skills mixed, and it turned out to be my favorite character.
(Your only allowed to level up primary skills, use books to level up others)
skills are: Mercantile, Persuade, Accuracy, Stealth, Lockpick, Disarm.
Credits to Wolf3167 for giving me this mix of stats.
