you dont have to use your money. just go to magic shops and save your game, enter, look through the spells they have, and if they dont have it, re-load the game and try again. (i think you can get it in all magic stores)

If there's a potion for it then it would only be sold in shops within the expansion that you got the disease, but sometimes you've got to find or make the potion. If there's an ingredient you need, try searching alchemy shops. If it's a quest related ingredient then you shouldn't have been able to sell it right? Unless you got the item from an npc, you should be able to wait 7 in-game days and then search for whatever it is you need. I wish I could be of more help but I haven't gotten that far in the game yet
